Media Alert: Princeton Softech Addresses Protecting Data Privacy at the 2007 Pittsburgh CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit

Who:

Princeton, New Jersey – September 19, 2007 – Princeton Softech, an IBM company, will be sponsoring, exhibiting and hosting a panel discussion at the 2007 Pittsburgh CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit. Eric Offenberg, CIPP and Product Marketing Manager at Princeton Softech, and Joseph DiMarcantonio, Princeton Softech’s CIO, will conduct a panel discussion titled, “Securing Your Data and Your Brand: A Data Privacy Case Study.” The session will examine how organizations can take a proactive approach to combat security threats and ensure customer confidence and privacy, while also supporting Compliance with local, state, national, international and industry-based privacy regulations.

With nearly 10 years of Technology marketing experience across industries, Offenberg has established himself as a data privacy thought leader, frequently speaking about data privacy Compliance issues on behalf of Princeton SofTech in various Webinars and at industry events. As CIO, DiMarcantonio manages Princeton Softech’s worldwide Information Technology (IT) staff and directs the overall corporate information and processing activities of the organization to support product development, quality assurance and support teams, as well as corporate application systems. He is also a member of the New Jersey Technology Council CIO Advisory Board.

What:

Protecting privacy has never been more important. The increasing number of publicly exposed data breaches has led to growing concern among consumers and the businesses they frequent. Although there are measures in place to enforce security in production environments, application development and testing environments need access to “realistic” test data, ultimately heightening the risk of data breaches.

Presentation topics will focus on the corporate view of data privacy and common legislative themes, and will explain why IT is being held more responsible for protecting privacy. From a financial perspective, companies that fail to take an initiative to protect privacy face penalties, loss of brand equity and customer loyalty that can lead to loss of revenue. The benefits derived from protecting privacy can be priceless. Attendees will also learn about what is being done to protect data privacy today, especially in the more vulnerable development, testing and training environments, and will learn about data masking techniques that can be implemented to address these vulnerabilities.

The goal of the CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit is to provide IT professionals with industry-specific Technology and vendor resources through focused, comprehensive and educational Technology conferences. Typically, CIOs and Senior IT and Business Executives attend this executive-level event and are subject to approval by each region’s Executive Advisory Council. These invitation-only conferences are regionalized and span multiple communities, such as finance, corporate, education, healthcare and government.

Where and When:

The 2007 Pittsburgh CIO Forum & Executive IT Summit will be held September 25 and 26, at the Regional Learning Alliance, in Cranberry Woods, Pennsylvania.

Princeton Softech’s hour-long panel discussion on “Securing Your Data and Your Brand: A Data Privacy Case Study,” will take place on Tuesday, September 25, from 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. EDT.
