arcplan Analytics Solution Delivers Relevant and Up-to-Date Information for Analysis and Business Planning Langenfeld, Germany. DEKRA worked with experienced arcplan partner ontrix to develop and deploy a powerful solution based on arcplan´s Process-Driven Analytics software arcplan Enterprise and with Applix TM 1. The Analytics solution allows controllers, accountants and heads of the decentralized business units within DEKRA rapidly and efficiently identify reasons for deviations through real-time analysis and comparison. Employees are enabled to adjust business activities as soon as market changes or trends show up. |

DEKRA management wanted a solution that would utilize a centralised database and be accessible through the web. The solution had to ensure that analyses, reports and planning were executed quickly based on up-to-date and reliable data. Furthermore DEKRA needed a future-proof and scalable system. In order to meet these requirements, the company employed a Business Intelligence solution based on arcplan Enterprise and Applix´s TM1. Implementation ran quickly. Only three months after the project started, the solution went live. „Our own software, that transfers ALEA data models to TM1 models automatically, and arcplan Enterprise ebabled us to set up a prototype in extremely short term. Today, 250 users from all business units in Europe utilize the system. It offers report functionalities such as P&L, revenues, orders, contribution margin, cost centre and cost object analysis, revenue planning and currency conversion. User defined presettings within the arcplan reports make navigation easy for the users.
DEKRA derives the biggest benefit from rapidly identifying deviations with the help of up-to-date analysis and comparisons. Managers are enabled to adjust business activities as soon as market changes appear. Other financial advantage are expected to result from the reduction of administrative and maintenance costs as well as the fast data access.
